Andover Music Club's 76th season continues into November 2022, with extremely talented Antoine Preat.

Described by the French Radio as “one of the most gifted young artists of the youngest generation” and “a young artist with a distinctive voice”, London-based pianist Antoine Preat has been invited to perform in prestigious venues including the Wigmore Hall, Salle Gaveau, Salle Cortot, Paris Beaux Arts Museum, Frederyk Chopin Institute as well as throughout Europe and the United States, being featured on radios such as the BBC, France Musique, Scala Radio and TRT Radio 3.

Antoine’s debut album “Polyphony” inspired by his deep attachment to Baroque and polyphonic works is released on 15th January 2021 with Ulysses Arts. It features works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Scriabin.

Since his debut with the University Orchestra of Alicante, Antoine has performed with European orchestras such as Tonerl Chamber Orchestra, Sainsbury Soloists, Academy Festival Orchestra, London Student Orchestra and Resonate Chamber Ensemble. Performance highlights include festivals such as the Nohant Chopin Festival, Lisztomanias, Chopin à Bagatelle, Les Concerts d’Esther, Marathon Chopin (for his bicentenary), Les Nuits du Piano in Paris, IMS Prussia Cove, Encuentro de Santander.

Antoine is an avid chamber musician. In 2016 Jerome Pernoo invited him to join the 'Centre de Musique de Chambre de Paris' and perform a concert series sponsored by Deutsche Gramophone at the Salle Cortot. Antoine is also a founding member of Trio Cordiera and Duo Martelli (two piano duo) with whom he performs regularly.

Fascinated by early music and always keen to deepen his understanding of his repertoire and instrument, Antoine studied early keyboards with Carole Cerasi in London, as well as with acclaimed fortepianists Andreas Staier and Tobias Koch in Poland.

Throughout his career, Antoine has also been fortunate to receive guidance from artists such as Philippe Cassard, Pascal Rogé, Alberta Alexandrescu, Robert Levin, Jerome Lowenthal, Richard Goode, Imogen Cooper and Stephen Hough.

Born in Paris in 1997, Antoine Préat started the piano at age nine and gave his first public concert one year later at the Salle Gaveau. After graduating with honours from the Ecole Normale de Paris where he studied with Liudmila Berlinskaia and Guigla Katsarava, Antoine furthered his studies at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Tatiana Sarkissova and Christopher Elton. He earned a Master of Arts as well as the DipRam - highest distinction delivered by the institution - and the Bache Prize for special achievements upon graduation. He has been a finalist of such competitions as the Ettlingen Competition for Young Pianists, the Concours International de la Ville de Gagny, as well as a prizewinner of the Concours international d’Ile de France, Concours Claude Kahn, Los Angeles Colburn Piano Festival Competition and received an honour prize at the New York Début Piano Competition.
